The George Hills Snook Charity exists to offer practical support to residents of Cardiff through targeted grant funding. These grants help individuals over the age of 60 and in poor health—access essential household items, home repairs, and everyday living aids.
The Fund was established in 1950 through the Estate of the late George Hill Snook, whose legacy continues to provide vital assistance to the Cardiff community.

Case Study – New Fridge Freezer
An 80-year-old client living alone with limited family support had experienced a stroke, asthma, and several falls. Their 25-year-old fridge freezer had broken, and they couldn’t afford a replacement on a low income. A grant of £230 was awarded to provide a new appliance.
Case Study – Specialist Chair
After hospital discharge, an Occupational Therapist recommended a low-rise chair to support safe posture. The client’s family raised £370, but the chair cost £670. A grant of £300 was awarded to cover the shortfall.
