Age Connects is looking to recruit a part time Volunteer Manager (21 hours, Temporary) for our Western Vale Good Neighbours Service. The post is funded up until the end of March 2021.



Location: Llantwit Major & traveling throughout the Western Vale


Salary: £12,645 per annum


Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2021.


Hours of Work: 21 hours (some evening and weekend work each month)


The purpose of the Good Neighbours Scheme is to help isolated older people stay living independently in their own homes and communities. We do this by providing 

  • information and answers to queries 

  • Signposting to services and activities 

  • Providing both short & long-term volunteer practical support

    • Befriending

    • Shopping

    • Transport


Specific Objectives of the post

  • To promote the service to help spread awareness of the project.

  • To develop relationships with local services & community activities

  • To assess client’s needs & provide them with solutions to meet them. 

  • To manage a large team of volunteers who are either providing support in the client’s own home or in the community.

  • To support the volunteer development officer in recruiting volunteers who provide the service to the clients.
