We need help to keep them safe, well, and reassured that there is help at hand.

We are helping members of our local communities, such as Alan and Deborah of Barry who we supporting through our doorstep shopping service.

Deborah has several serious health conditions and when the lockdown began, husband Alan was concerned as to how to ensure they had sufficient groceries and other supplies. The Age Connects shopping assistance service was recommended to him by health advisers.  Alan made the call and Age Connects’ volunteer Amy has been helping weekly since then, undertaking the couple’s shopping and delivering it to their home.

Full of praise for the dedicated volunteer, Alan says that the service has literally ‘saved my wife’s life’. Alan adds: ‘We are so thankful for the Age Connects shopping service and always look forward to seeing Amy - a real ray of sunshine.’
